This morning&#8217;s nocturnal reflection involved the art of the upsell.  Part of what I&#8217;m trying to help people avoid is getting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smallbusinesswebhostings.com\/tips\/most-common-tricks-used-by-unethical-hosting-companies-that-could-hurt-your-online-business.html\" target=\"new\">ripped off<\/a> by unscrupulous commercial providers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Know what you need<\/li>\n<li>Analyze who provides what you need<\/li>\n<li>Make the buy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m reminded of a fast food chain who took two $0.99 menu items, cut a third off the portion size of each, and put them both into a cup for $2.<\/p>\n<p><u><b><i>Great<\/u> deal!!1!<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Of course, there was a multi-million dollar TV ad campaign driving that message home.<\/p>\n<p>In my professional life, I&#8217;ve never been okay with those sorts of tactics.<\/p>\n<p>And that makes me a bad person.<\/p>\n<p>If only there were some letters I could buy after my name to add weight to my opinion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sleep isn&#8217;t something that comes easily to me lately.
