{"id":1796,"date":"2019-11-26T16:33:32","date_gmt":"2019-11-26T21:33:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/control-h.org\/wordpress\/?p=1796"},"modified":"2019-11-26T16:33:32","modified_gmt":"2019-11-26T21:33:32","slug":"twenty-six-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/control-h.org\/index.php\/2019\/11\/26\/twenty-six-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Twenty-six"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Healthcare situation (reach-back to 2016, trip to Georgetown.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve written about this some this week already.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>MS stuff<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Neurologist at Georgetown<\/li><li>Tysabri infusions at Georgetown<\/li><li>Other stuffs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medstarnrh.org\/our-network\/locations\/bethesda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"here (opens in a new tab)\">here<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p>Since the move to ALX, I need to find a new PCP and a new dentist.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>I do like the folks I&#8217;ve been seeing since I came to NoVA, but they&#8217;re a hike for someone who can&#8217;t drive.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>They&#8217;re also, I think, outside the short bus service area.  (read:  ADA Ride paratransit)<\/p>\n\n\n<p>I have an appointment in late December to address something else that is a side-effect of everything else long-term.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>I still have my fingers crossed that there&#8217;ll be something that miraculously fixes what ails me.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>At the same time, I&#8217;m not holding my breath on it.  i recognize that the MS probably isn&#8217;t going to kill me;  I&#8217;ll probably die of cancer or cardiovascular disease like everybody else.  <\/p>\n\n\n<p>The question is whether I live as long as my male ancestors.  My dad was 59 when he died.  His dad was 54.  But my maternal grandfather is 90, and my only living grandparent.  <\/p>\n\n\n<p>But lately I worry more about people think they should be able, with plurality approval, force me to live by their prescription.  <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Just a few more.  I hope there&#8217;s something where I can really dig in and write.  I know that there&#8217;s a free-write there.
