{"id":2564,"date":"2016-08-02T16:47:19","date_gmt":"2016-08-02T21:47:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/control-h.org\/?p=2564"},"modified":"2016-08-02T16:47:19","modified_gmt":"2016-08-02T21:47:19","slug":"two-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/control-h.org\/index.php\/2016\/08\/02\/two-8\/","title":{"rendered":"Two"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Who do you keep in touch with from high school?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Really only one person from the school where I graduated. &nbsp;For awhile there, it was really a matter of trying to figure out who was still alive, and, of those, who isn\u2019t in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I get older, there\u2019s less of that. &nbsp;But I was always an \u201coutsider\u201d at the school where I graduated. &nbsp;It was a stepping-stone, and I viewed it as such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m okay with that, though, as the only person I really keep tabs on is the only one who really understood what my situation was like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I didn\u2019t grow up in the ghetto. &nbsp;(No, I grew up in various sets of Army quarters; I can remember, as a kid, my dad only being allotted a two bedroom\/one bath apartment.) I didn\u2019t have a parent who suffered from mesothelioma. &nbsp;Just one of those things, I suppose. &nbsp;Yes, I do have some pertinent memories\u2026like seeing a young Michael Vick roll left, and fire a pass sixty yards flat-footed, and realizing he was going to be the better&nbsp;<em>quarterback<\/em>&nbsp;than Ronald Curry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I could rattle on for hours about that, but I really don\u2019t care to. &nbsp;Are there folks I wonder about? &nbsp;Sometimes. &nbsp;How much time do I spend on it? &nbsp;Not a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things are kind of going okay today; &nbsp;I couldn\u2019t say the same yesterday. &nbsp;I am completely exhausted, though. &nbsp;Friday can\u2019t get here soon enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of that, I\u2019m going to slack on coming up with a new prompt for tomorrow. &nbsp;Maybe it\u2019d be a good day to free-write?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who do you keep in touch with from high school?
