{"id":4970,"date":"2025-08-12T16:23:37","date_gmt":"2025-08-12T20:23:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/control-h.org\/?p=4970"},"modified":"2025-08-12T16:23:37","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T20:23:37","slug":"will-it-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/control-h.org\/index.php\/2025\/08\/12\/will-it-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Will It Work?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Just finished watching a livestream on TheFP about President Trump&#8217;s takeover of the Metropolitan Police Department in DC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, it&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefp.com\/p\/jed-rubenfeld-is-trumps-takeover-of-dc-lawful-police-crime-homelessness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">probably legal<\/a>.  DC is an odd beast.  Yes, they elect a mayor and legiaslative functions are handled by an elected city council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the judicial system is almost entirely dispatched to the Federal Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If things aren&#8217;t going well, the Federal government can essentially sack <strong><em>all<\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em>of the elected leaders.  Normally, this would be something the Congress handles, but the Legislative Branch has dispatched so much work to the Executive Branch.  There&#8217;s important fundraising to do, don&#8217;t you know?  The Executive can act until we decide we can be bothered to get back to DC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NBC affiliate in DC last night was very confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clearly it&#8217;s awful, because anything Trump does is awful.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/dc-police-union-chair-supports-trump-takeover\/ar-AA1Kka8A?ocid=BingNewsVerp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MPD Union are in favor<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sent a news crew to somewhere outside rich Northwest, and the residents are in support of the takeover?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good high-priced reporting education cannot compute.  How is this possible?
