I&#8217;m not surprised it&#8217;s not getting more press.  Saying, &#8220;yeah, we were wrong&#8221; is very tough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saw Carolla trending on X. It&#8217;s important that people don&#8217;t remember, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I could go through admission of one&#8217;s own wrongdoing and the harm it caused being the first step, but, why?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I will remember.  And, for that reason, I&#8217;m finished with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Revisiting <a href=\"https:\/\/control-h.org\/index.php\/2016\/07\/31\/thirty-one\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">what i wrote about ten years ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1. Do you believe in soul mates? If so, do you believe we each have just one soul mate?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My answer isn&#8217;t as forcefully-affirmative as it was before, but there are core values that really don&#8217;t change.  When those two sets marry up, it works.  (<strong><em>*groan*<\/em><\/strong>). Is this a case of Chomsky&#8217;s creationist grammar argument?  I don&#8217;t know, but there&#8217;s still underlying reflexive reactions to things, situations, that can&#8217;t be turned off.  So, maybe, still?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. What would you do if you could live a day without consequences?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have no idea what I was worried about back then.  But, even free of some of my previous restrictions;  I still haven&#8217;t gone and gotten stoned even though I probably could.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So.  Why not just write whatever comes to mind?  Because there are fleeting thoughts that don&#8217;t need to be recorded, much less memorialized<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fifth Column folks had an interview with the Harper&#8217;s editor about why he doesn&#8217;t want to go digital, and is worried about AI consuming its content.  This went well with the thing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefp.com\/p\/ai-human-work-vocation-meaning-obsolete\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TheFP reposted yesterday<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can&#8217;t stop it.  Even if you&#8217;re only on paper.  Even if that paper is stuck at the bottom of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-middle-east-56842712\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Dead Sea<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-middle-east-56842712\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Information Wants To Be Free<\/a>.  Technology is part of the way that that happens.  But, also, so would <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Multiple_discovery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multiple Discovery<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s no easy answers, but, to me, calling the men with guns is never the correct option.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lots of consumption of various reaction to the Fauci testimony.
