Free-write\/Flashback<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m awake in the middle of the night. So, flashback to 2016<\/a>. I was working on the Norfolk Naval Station back then. It was the very early days of ride sharing, and it really wouldn’t have mattered if I could have gotten on the base; I didn’t earn enough to do it. So, whatever it was, three bucks, to take the paratransit, or spend three hours trying to get there on the regular bus (which required something like three connections). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just being in the office there, too, was incredibly challenging, physically. A few flights of stairs or an elevator ride to get to the floor where I worked. Significant walk to the bathroom. I don’t remember whether I think I had my own desk in a shared cube, but don’t have a ton of recollections otherwise. I was allowed to work from home some, which ended up being most days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not sure if that’s before or after my first hospital stay, but travel more than about half an hour was downright painful by that point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do wish I’d been able to write more back then, but I was struggling so much both physically and financially that it wasn’t really possible. Was I doing good work? I don’t even know. Probably not. Was it better than what I’d been doing the first time in the blast chiller? A little, maybe. It was nice being home with my wife full-time, but there were so few good times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five years later<\/a>, and things were much better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And sidetrack to find what happened to the podcast I was liking then. I don’t remember much about them. Seeing one of the guests listed in one of their last episodes, I can’t remember if I just gave up, or if they just went away without me really noticing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In many ways, though, I don’t care. Those branches seemed to be actually building something worthwhile, but there really wasn’t anything worthwhile there; how many Pepe The Frog<\/a> photos can you see?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess that’s a good place to transition to other things….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malice interviewed the Tate Brothers’ lawyer<\/a>. If even half the stuff he brought up is true, my perspective is very much changed. I can still think they’re vile people, but it’s incredible that the tools of international governments are likely being used to prosecute questionable charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brian Thompson’s murderer decided that Federal Pound-Me-In-The-Ass prison<\/a> is preferable to New York state prison, and pleaded guilty.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m completely baffled by the number of people, especially young women, who are enamored with this guy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He’s a fucking murderer<\/span><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever insane justification he might have had for it is utter bullshit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, to reverse it for the zOMG-Medicare-For-All crowd, would you have been okay if he’d done the same to an upstanding civil servant who was responsible for the same sorts of decisions. Murdering a CEO is okay, but murdering a bureaucrat is treason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
