{"id":745,"date":"2013-09-14T13:10:01","date_gmt":"2013-09-14T17:10:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/control-h.org\/blog\/wordpress\/?p=745"},"modified":"2013-09-14T13:10:01","modified_gmt":"2013-09-14T17:10:01","slug":"get-to-the-point","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/control-h.org\/index.php\/2013\/09\/14\/get-to-the-point\/","title":{"rendered":"Get to the point"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Background <a title=\"Move On\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fGGYZYgILF8\" target=\"_blank\">music <\/a>for this entry&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>So much of what I see lately that passes as\u00a0<em>awesome\u00a0<\/em>work actually isn&#8217;t, for a variety of reasons. \u00a0I could enumerate them, but why? \u00a0Nobody is going to read the reasons, anyway.<\/p>\n<p>I think I started articulating this after reading Dana&#8217;s <a title=\"Understanding\" href=\"http:\/\/whisksandwords.com\/2013\/09\/06\/let-the-prairie-be-made\/\" target=\"_blank\">post<\/a>, and understanding her sentiments about wanting to write all the things. \u00a0Ultimately, though, it comes down to the fact that people are utterly unwilling these days to take the time to even attempt to read all the things; \u00a0the effort you spent in writing them &#8212; is it wasted?<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, words do have meaning. \u00a0Language is the primary way we communicate with others. \u00a0People who are satisfied with doing the barest of minimums really don&#8217;t deserve my limited energy. \u00a0The spoons wouldn&#8217;t be wasted if the reward matched the effort. \u00a0Right now, in many aspects of my life, the efforts far exceed the rewards.<\/p>\n<p>So move on.<\/p>\n<p>That might disappoint some people, but not the ones I care about, and certainly not me. \u00a0To paraphrase Popeye, I am what I am, and that&#8217;s all that I am. \u00a0Using the language to the best of my ability is part of that. \u00a0I&#8217;m not going to relearn something I know to be incorrect. \u00a0Sorry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background music for this entry&#8230; So much of what I see lately that passes as\u00a0awesome\u00a0work actually isn&#8217;t, for a variety of reasons. \u00a0I could enumerate them, but why? \u00a0Nobody is going to read the reasons, anyway.
