Paying Attention To The Wrong Things

I didn’t write yesterday. I think I have a basic idea of what I should do for the rest of the month writing-wise, but I kinda am getting distracted by other things.

So, what am I thinking about?

  • Iran, as usual. More executions on top of the tens of thousands Early This Year. From Amnesty, but there’s other sources if you STFW or use your fave AI tool. As always, recommend Goldie on Rumble or YT,,and Tousi on YT. I do wonder if weapons are getting in to the “Immortal Guard.” Also, the blockade on the Strait of Hormouz, and the financial restrictions are really putting the squeeze on the IRGC. Sucks for the people in Iran, but I don’t know that there’s really a better way to do it. Cut off their oil exports. Cut off their ability to do anything, financially, and wait. Yes, the waiting is incredibly frustrating.
  • I’ve heard a few things lately that actually put a lot of the blame on the Diesel prices not on the War of Choice!!1! in Iran, but on what the Ukranians have done to the Diesel refining capacity in Russia. Also, basically nobody reporting on the North Korean slaves fighting in Russia and Ukraine, I’ve seen on a few places discussion about how the Diesel issues don’t have that much to do with the Strait of Hormuz. Here and here. (Apologies for the paywalls, but, in the unlikely event that anyone reads this, email, and I might be able to hook you up…). Diesel powers damn near everything. I quipped something along the lines of expecting to see scads of midwestern Democrats (whose politics are basically indistinguishable from JDVP’s) rolling out the bad ideas about Biodiesel. To quote another advocate of corn, It’s “grrreat!”
  • I got through Sarah Heppola‘s latest book. It’s nice to hear the perspective of a woman near my age, but there’s pieces that I can’t relate to at all. Her other book was about being blackout-drunk, something that’s really only happened to me once. I’ve never smoked weed. My “magic number” still fits on one hand, and on one finger in the past two decades. I just can’t relate. But it goes well with the current news about the “Cornell 7,” and brings up many of the suspicions I had about what I was seeing on campus in the late-90s/early-aughts. I seem to remember worrying about anything bad happeneing to my wife as she started attending the bit university. If something happens, go to the local cops! But if the local PD has surrendered its jurisdiction to the Campus Mall Cops, I really don’t know what to do.
Still really bothering the shit out of me that a SJW mob pointed out a guy at Camp Lejune who happened to have the same name as one of those implicated. Guy’s just trying to eat paste in peace, and he’s being accused of being involved in a frat train at a University he could never afford.
But on Sarah’s book, I’m wondering if it might be worth a relisten to put together an OWT entry.
  • The London game was interesting, if not disappointing. Saints play tomorrow night with the twentieth anniversary of Steve Gleason in the Coonastrodome. I think Sarah and I watched the first half of that together in an Olive Garden, then the second half at her parents’ house.

More med stuff tomorrow. Party.

And Grok’s review on this one was kinda harsh. Oh well; it’s my shitty blog.
