18 (8/8)

Pretty unremarkable Saturday morning. Much to do with medical stuff; when are they going to reschedule this MRI from earlier in the week that didn’t happen, why did I get a strange extra four days on one of my prescriptions, and why did the pharmacy send me something like 20 refill reminders on that prescription?

This is for the very expensive new drug from a few years ago. It’s helped me more than I can say; I basically can’t walk at all after I’ve been off of it for about four days.

Insurers used to send me a 90d supply which came in three sealed 30d bottles.

Despite it having been transitioned to generic, there were still kind of odd restrictions; you only get a 30d fill, and they try to pace it so that you can’t get a refill until you’ve only got a few days left.

What?

So, last fill, I get the regular manufacturer shrink-wrapped 30d supply, along with a generic bottle with about ten pills inside.

This morning I got probably twenty email reminders that I need to set up automatic refills….

*call the pharmacy*

Naturally, they’re closed for the weekend. Work with the virtual assistant ended with a, “guess I’ll call Monday.”

So much of life these days is trying to do small, seemingly menial, tasks. It’s not great for my concentration.

But prompt…

How can I channel that energy more often in my daily life?

Another case, I think, of where I was trying to stretch out multi-line cards into multiple starters.

Let’s try another one….

What’s one thing I usually take for granted that I want to appreciate more deeply today?

This is an odd question. Do I really take anything for granted? Yes, I appreciate when others do something for me, but, generally, I can get those things accomplished on my own if help isn’t offered. Would I be completely lost if “important” things went away? Probably not.

Of course, it works the other way around, too. I do things for others and get little recognition. But I prefer that to getting criticism for the method in which I do those things for others.

AI reviewer asked whether I do things to reduce overall friction. Yes. If I spill something, I make an attempt to clean it up most of the time. Maybe I don’t do a thorough job, but I do try to get things to be at least presentable. There are things that really bother me that others don’t notice, but I really don’t harp on those things. If I have an opportunity to make a small correction for my own satisfaction, I usually take it.

That’s enough for today, I think.
